The duties of the university council


The University Council is the supervisory body for financial, administrative, educational and scientific research affairs

In order to achieve this, it is necessary to carry out the following tasks:

  • Laying the methodological, educational and pedagogical foundations in a way that makes academic and educational activities consistent and consistent with the state’s general policy in the field of higher education.

  •  Work to raise the level of education and scientific research to meet the needs of development and in light of the general policy of the university.
  •  Coordination between the scientific, educational and social activities of the faculties, departments, programs and affiliated units, and the strengthening of the university’s relationship with its counterparts from public and private universities.
  •  Approving the appointment, secondment and secondment of faculty members, accepting their resignations and submitting them to the Board of Trustees to take what it deems appropriate.
  •  Approving the award of an honorary doctorate degree based on the proposal of the president of the university.
  •  Deciding on granting faculty members sabbaticals and sabbaticals.
  •  Approving the admission program and the number of students accepted annually in the faculties, departments, programs and various academic disciplines at the university, with determining the admission rates and providing the Supreme Council with that.
  •  Suggesting the tuition fees that the university collects from students and submitting them to the Board of Trustees for approval.
  •  Discussing the annual report on the university's activities and achievements and submitting it to the Board of Trustees for submission to the Supreme Council of Universities.
  •  Discussing the university's annual budget draft and its final accounts and submitting them to the Board of Trustees.
  •  Examining what the president of the university presents to him in terms of academic work.
