University goals

The university aims, as stipulated in its law issued under the permit issued by the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research, to achieve the following:

First: In the field of higher education

  1. Preparing university generations who are aware of their cultural and Islamic heritage and are keen to consolidate their faith in God and loyalty to the homeland. 
  2. Preparing young people of good morals, keen to adhere to the scientific approach, qualifying them academically and technically, accustoming them to self-reliance and continuous readiness to serve the country. 
  3. Preparing young people who are capable of creativity, innovation and lifelong self-learning. 
  4. Providing Yemeni society with specialists and experts in various fields, taking into account the evolving needs of the labor market, within the framework of the state's policy for human resource development. 
  5. Continuous renewal of the educational process at the undergraduate and postgraduate levels. 

Second: In the field of scientific research

  1. Conducting theoretical and applied research and studies to serve the community and participate in finding scientific solutions to its social and economic problems.
  2. Linking the various university research and studies to comprehensive development plans and the future vision of society.
  3. Preparing generations of Yemeni scientists, researchers and experts who are capable of creative organized work in various fields of science, literature, arts and technology.

 

Third: In the field of community service and development

  1. Participation in the service and development of society through direct and continuous interaction with its economic, social and cultural institutions and the provision of scientific and technical advice to these institutions, leading to the society benefiting from the university’s energies and capabilities.
  2. Developing Yemeni human resources and increasing their efficiency by providing continuous education and training programs for all community institutions and spreading scientific and humanitarian culture among Yemeni society.
  3. Providing opportunities for intermediate and higher university education (intermediate university degree and first university degree) in the fields of applied, technological and administrative sciences by providing distinguished and flexible programs that meet the requirements of the local and regional labor market.

 

Fourth: In the field of cooperation with other scientific institutions

  1. Strengthening scientific ties and ties and exchanging experiences with universities and scientific institutions in all countries, especially the countries of the Cooperation Council for the Arab States of the Gulf.
  2. Interact with global scientific experiences and expertise in the fields of thought, science and culture.

 

Fifth: In the field of performance appraisal

Benefit from the results of the evaluation studies carried out by the advisory work teams, especially in the following areas: 

  1. Organizing the relationship between the University Council and its institutions in the academic and administrative aspects in a way that contributes to simplifying procedures.
  2. Develop teaching programs and quality standards and encourage student activities.
  3. Develop programs to develop the capabilities of faculty members at the university to improve their level of performance and create the necessary incentives for that.
  4. Developing plans and programs for scientific research and research training.
  5. Cooperation between the university and specialized international bodies.
